Phase 1: Field survey / registration

Students, designers and fashion professionals are invited to participate in the project with the objective of seeking "knowledge and practices" of traditional communities and from them, offering handmade goods (clothes, bags, handicrafts, etc. ) that can add value or artistic value.

Applicants must submit research proposals that indicate the community center  that they will work with.

The project / research will be assessed by the artistic director and curator of Paraty eco-fashion, with the following criteria:

• Creativity
  Innovation
  Ecological Proposal
  Proposal socially correct
  The ability of viable
  Presentation and clarity of the proposal

PHASE 2: organization of the exhibition and the selection for the parade

  Release
  Exhibition of Quilombola, Caiçara and Indigenous "know-hows". 
  

PHASE 3: Paraty

This phase will take place on 5, 6 and August 7, 2011.

Location: Area Pontal, River Perequê-agu - Paraty - RJ:
Exhibition "knowledge and production"
Parade of the research results.
  

Day 1 -

- 19:00 - Opening of the exhibition

- 20:30 - Opening Ceremony, Presentation of project and program and guest musicians show.

Day 2 -

- 09:00 - Boat Parade on the River-Perequê-agu representing each community involved, as well as exposure of the finished products. Parade of the products resulting from research.

- 17:00 - Lecture by guest designer of Eco-Fashion Paraty.

- 20:00 - Show of traditional instrumental music from Paraty: cirandas
  

Day 3 -

- 09:00 - Meeting with successful environmental proposals and their creators.

- Presentation, comments and awards to the three best works.

- Dialogue time:
• With communities
• With students / participants
• With guest designers
- 18:30 - Closing ceremony
AWARDS: In recognition of the importance of traditional cultures, Paraty Eco-Fashion will award:
- Ten communities involved. Criteria: Participation
- The best work of three of the students / participants. Criteria: popular vote / designers jury vote
